The South Indian Education Society (SIES) was established in 1932 and is fully devoted to the cause of education, Research, Human resource development and R & D activities. Over the period of 9 decades, SIES has established education centres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai covering Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, including Pharmaceuticals, Environment, and Packaging Science and Technology.
The SIES School of Packaging/Packaging Technology Centre (SIES SOP/PTC) is an apex body which was set up in 2001 by the SIES and allied industries, with the special objective of improving the packaging standards in the country.
The Institute endeavours to improve the standard of packaging needed for the promotion of exports and create infrastructural facilities for overall packaging improvement in India. This is achieved through the Institute’s multifarious activities which are today, in line with those of premier packaging institutes, the world over. The institute aims to make India a focal point for contemporary developments in Art, Science, Technology and Engineering, with respect to the field of Packaging.
At present, the Institute has members in varied categories such as Corporate Patron Members and Life Members, and a large number ofpackaging converter & user industries regularly use the expertise and the services available in the laboratories.
The programmes and activities of the SIES School of Packaging/ Packaging Technology Centre are streamlined towards Education, Research and Industrial orientation on one hand, and the Social and Societal needs on the other.
